Creative Writing Tutor: Poetry/Prose/Play writing

Michael Bangerter is a graduate of both the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Lancaster University (Diploma & MA) and is a trained teacher.

He has appeared many times in the theatre, on television and in films. He has written for both stage and radio and lectured on theatre history. Michael has been a HE creative writing Senior Tutor and Assessor.

A FAR LINE OF HILLS (his first poetry collection) was published by the National Poetry Foundation in 1996, and another manuscript, DANCING BEARS, was short listed for the Redbeck 'Best Collection' prize ('99). His collection, FREEZING THE FRAME, was published in 2001 (Kite Modern Poetry Series). A third collection, EYELINES (haiku), in the same series, was published in 2002. POST SCRIPTS, 2006, THE FAT LADY SINGS, 2006. A CD of selected poetry, DANCING BEARS, read by the author, was released in 2003 (Kite Modern Poetry Series). His latest CD, 'PASSIONS & PHANTOMS' readings from the poetry of Thomas Hardy) was released in the following year by New Hope International. The incidental music for both these recordings was composed and played by the reader.

His work has appeared in a variety of poetry magazines, and he reviews poetry collections, anthologies and magazines for the Internet, etc.

Michael looks upon distance learning as a series of tutorials in which the subtleties of face-to-face tutoring can be duplicated by carefully written evaluations.
